Among these buildings, set amidst beautiful gardens rich in essences and flowers, is a museum in which Farouk's hunting trophies are kept, the prince's residence with its original furnishings and a museum where some of the family's memorabilia are displayed: including a collection of manuscripts, carpets, textiles, brass work and crystal, a unique table made of elephant ears and a 1000-piece silver service. Located north of the Roman Fortress of Babylon, it is actually on the edge of Fustat, the temporary city founded by Amr, and was an Islamic learning center long before El-Azhar Mosque.
